The Canadian MDX Alternative
For the Canadian market, only the Acura MDX models are supplied with the manufacturer's Super Handling all-wheel-drive (SH-AWD) system. It is designed to adapt and conform to driving conditions and driver commands, such as negotiating a right-hand curve. In this instance, added power will be given to the left-rear wheel, which effectively tightens the front end during the cornering process. It also distributes additional power to the rear wheels during acceleration, and more evenly when driving on adverse surfaces.
This Acura MDX application has the capacity to dispatch a maximum of 70-percent torque to the rear axle, and from that point, distribution to as much as 100-percent to the left or right rear wheels. It's an enhancing driving system that contributes to making the MDX a fast-responding precision-steering safe vehicle that provides a smooth, comfortable ride for driver and passengers. These advantages are increased by the steering weight, throttle responsiveness and the SH-AWD bias having the option of being tightened or dialled back into a determined "Comfort", "Normal" or "Sport" setting.

The MDX offers hi-tech oriented drivers a wide and varied range of electronic applications, amongst which is adaptive cruise control, which enables you to maintain a safe distance from the rear of the vehicle ahead of you, even at low speeds.
