The Acura TL comes with an array of features. Acura can be applauded for making everything but navigation standard equipment, as this gives shoppers the peace of mind knowing that they won't be pushed into purchasing unnecessary factory options.
The TL Arrived in 1995 and Soon Gained Recognition
The Acura TL has always been known as a luxurious car, and with the arrival of the second generation in 1999, it rose to the top of the near-luxury segment quickly and soon became the top Acura seller. During 2004, the TL underwent major upgrading with a smooth 270 horsepower V6 engine and much improvement to the dynamics; as well both exterior and interior were modernized. Acura went on to establish itself as a leader in innovation by offering one of the first Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and a standard DVD audio system. Like the rest of the Acura line, there are no trim levels, so that every TL looks basically the same, with the exception of those equipped with optional wheels or the A-Spec package. This package includes a lowered suspension, anthracite eighteen-inch wheels, an aero kit, and a rear spoiler.
On The Drive
For those people who prefer to shift gears, manual transmission cars come with a limited-slip differential to help prevent excessive wheel spin, as well as Brembo brakes for an increased stopping performance. The only TL engine is a smooth 3.2-litre/270 horsepower V6 that provides rich, quick-revving power. An accolade for Acura was The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, awarding the Acura TL the honour of Best Pick in frontal-impact crash testing.
The Acura TL comes standard with seventeen-inch alloy wheels, but there are options of having eighteen and nineteen-inch wheels instead. The car is equipped with Xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights, fog lights, push-button ignition and LED taillights. There are heated side mirrors and dual exhaust tip, all making for a handsome-looking car filled with luxuries that every driver would like to own.
What You Find on the Inside
You ride in comfort on plush leather-trimmed seats, the front ones are power-adjustable and heated, or you can opt for available heated and ventilated seats with dual-zone climate control. The car comes with ample leg and headroom for all passengers. The driver's seat is ten-way adjustable and the steering wheel comes with mounted controls allowing eyes to be kept focused on the road ahead, and the gauges are easy to read. There is a Six-CD stereo with an MP3 jack, a USB port, and Bluetooth streaming audio. ELS Surround premium stereo with a 15 GB hard drive for music storage is available as well as a navigation system with backup camera.
