The New and Improved Latest Model Audi RS5
While the new larger and quicker Audi RS5 introduces a number of practical improvements, among them more space and 17 percent better fuel economy, the most significant upgrades to the model it replaces are undoubtedly its lighter weight, refined chassis, more variable suspension, and considerable boosts in engine output. There is also a transmission change, with the V8's dual-clutch seven-way for a ZF eight-speed torque converter. Lighter, stronger, and nimbler than before, the new RS5 rides and handles well, making it a hit in its class segment. Through a new hydraulically linked shock setup with cockpit adjustable damping, The RS5 is different depending on which mode is selected. With Comfort, there is a somewhat firm ride that filters out moderately sized potholes. However, when Sport is selected, a smooth tarmac surface is fine, but the RS5 is not designed for or at its best with bumpy gravel roads.
The RS5 has Got a New Engine
Audi has changed the engine of the RS5 from the 4.2 Litre V8, for the dynamic 2.9 Litre twin-turbocharged V6 that it has been developing over the last few years together with Porsche. This means that the Audi RS5 and the Porsche Panamera 4S now share engines but not the complete drivelines. There is a new chassis as well, with a five-link arrangement at the front and back, paired with adaptive dampers. A transmission change is that the V8's dual-clutch seven-speed automatic is now a ZF eight-speed torque converter. The peak torque is now dramatically superior, with the V6 making 442 lb-ft from 1900 rpm, resulting in seventeen-percent reduction in carbon emissions. The car is plainly agiler than it's ever been and can at least be goaded into delivering more drive to the outside back wheel.
The Immaculate Interior Perfection
The ambient interior LED lighting reveals a pair of electrically adjustable and heated honey-combed topstitched leather front seats, tri-zone climate control, and Audi's MMI infotainment system. There is an 8.3-inch display, satellite navigation, a DVD player, 10-GB hard drive storage, and radio. As well, there is Smartphone integration and a ten-speaker audio system. On the door panels, steering wheel and gear shifter there is enough Alcantara to distinguish the RS5 from its close S5 relation. The large Audi RS5 certainly reveals a car of distinction, class, and elegance, from its long classical line to the large oval exhaust pipes.
