Few SUVs since the mid-1990s have been as popular as the Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle has room for up to nine passengers, V8 power, and plenty of available amenities. It's not hard to see why the Tahoe has been a consistent go-to choice for large families.
Tahoe: a Full-Size SUV Built on a Truck Platform
The strong and capable Chevrolet Tahoe comes in three trim levels including LS, LT, and Premier. Depending on the configuration the Tahoe can accommodate six to nine passengers and can tow up to 8,600 pounds with its four-wheel drive system. Plenty of power for the vehicle is provided by a 355 horsepower 5.3-Litre V8 engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. As well, there is a choice of two or four-wheel drive. The performance and handling of the Tahoe provides a surprisingly comfortable composed drive considering that the underneath is really a pickup truck.
The Tahoe is Equipped with an Upscale Interior
The redesigned cabin of the LS offers modern connectivity making it competitive with its segment rivals. The Tahoe comes with an integrated third-row fold-flat seat creating an elevated floor into the cargo area, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a colour display screen, and a rear-view camera. Depending on the trim, there are three rows of seats with the second and third-row power activated. The well-designed front row seating comes in perforated leather and is heated and ventilated, and the second-row is heated. The LT and Premier models are well-equipped and come with full power accessories and tri-zone climate control. You will also find included in them, adaptive magnetic shock absorbers, a power liftgate, power adjustable pedals and an integrated brake controller.
Standard safety equipment includes stability control, front side as well as a front centre - between the seats - airbag, as well as three curtain airbags. The safety technology available includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Alert, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a vibrating safety-alert driver seat. General Motor's Teen Driver monitoring system is included standard in 2017 for the Chevrolet Tahoe as well as statistics are shown for maximum speed achieved, distance driven, and the number of times the active safety features were triggered.
Available Optional Extras
There were new options available for 2017 that included a navigation system, as well as an entertainment system. Another option available for the Chevrolet Tahoe is low-speed forward automatic braking, and the rear-seat entertainment system now has HDMI and USB ports as well as supporting device projection. The MyLink multimedia system had added the Rear Seat Reminder feature, and new active grille shutters improve the aerodynamics on the highway.
