The Ford E150 van offers functionality and excellent design in one handy package. With lots of space plus smooth on the road driving, it is a popular choice for multiple passengers or cargo.
Discover the Practicality of Ford E150 Van
One of the longest standing series of models from Ford, the E150 is a full-sized van which dates back several decades. A full-sized van also known as the Econoline, the Ford E150 sits at the bottom of the E-series and is designed for transporting up to eight passengers or lots of bulky items.
The E150 is on the smaller size when compared to the E350, but offers a convenient interim solution between a full-size van and a minivan. The E150 can be purchased either as a passenger van or as a cargo vehicle, with a cutaway version available too.
The vehicle comes with a four-speed automatic transmission and a V8 4.6-litre engine which delivers 225 horsepower, fuelled by a 35-gallon tank.
The Basic Package
Vans aren't typically built for luxury but the Ford E150 model has a surprising amount of standard features offered at entry level.
On the outside 16-inch steel wheels, black bumpers, and grille provide its distinctive appearance while on the inside, there's vinyl flooring, front bucket seats, and a tilting steering column. Move up to the XLT trim and the exterior features are upgraded to chrome, and the vinyl flooring is replaced by carpet.
Both the entry-level XL and the XLT models have air conditioning and four-wheel ABS, but the latter also has cruise control, a CD player, and electric mirrors and windows.
Add Your Luxury Items
Although vans are normally just a functional vehicle, the Ford E150 has a number of additional features that can be purchased to enhance the driving experience.
You can either purchase the optional extras individually or choose one of the packages that Ford has put together which offer better value. There are different packages available for both the XL and the XLT models.
There were several interior, exterior and towing packages to choose from for the XL, while the XLS also has the option of the full Premium package too. This includes leather-wrapped steering wheel, privacy glass, overhead display console, remote keyless entry, two-tone paint and leather chairs with lumbar control.
Basic safety features
The E150 series of vans from Ford are all equipped with four-wheel ABS as standard and traction control can be added as an optional extra. Three-point seat-belts are included for every occupant plus dual front airbags, and in-dash navigation is another extra that was available.
