Discover the extreme power and volume of the Ford Transit 350 which has space for up to 15 passengers as well as lots of cargo. With a choice of wheelbases, lengths, and heights this is the van that's suitable for all heavy-duty use.
Ford Transit 350: Sheer Power on the Road
The Ford Transit 350 is one of the popular vehicles from Ford, in a series of medium to large vans but this one has serious cargo capacity.
Ford has considered the fact that this cargo van might be used in a number of different ways and as such has offered choices for the design. Drivers have the option of two different wheelbases, three different roof heights and three different body lengths. And if this wasn't enough, it's possible to have the Transit 350 configured as either a cargo or passenger van.
If it's the latter you're looking for, you'll be able to fit an entire sports team plus subs inside with capacity for 15 occupants if you include every possible row. Leaving out the final row provides more cargo space and 12 seats for passengers. In the shorter length option, having all the seats in position provides a good amount of space in the rear. If you need more, simply choose the longer length model and the cargo area will increase to approximately 30% more while still offering room for 15 passengers.
The entry-level model comes fitted with a V6 3.7 litre engine which offers 275 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. It's possible to up this to the 3.5 litre EcoBoost or switch it for the heavy duty 3.2 litre diesel for raw pulling power.
Comfort on the Journey
Cargo / Passenger Vans aren't renowned for their luxurious interiors but the 350 has a veritable feast of extras that can be added to make it feel more comfortable to drive and travel in.
If you opt to upgrade to a higher trim, drivers will get a leather-wrapped steering wheel complete with audio controls, a 4-inch display screen on the dash, cruise control, Bluetooth and the SYNC 3 communication and entertainment system. If the screen feels a little difficult to reach across to during journeys, the controls can still be accessed via the voice commands.
More practical considerations include heated mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and reversing sensors.
Ford offers a range of security features to help keep the Transit 350 safe when it's not on the move. These include a rear camera fitted as standard and an optional perimeter alarm which is loud enough to wake neighbours in the next city, plus remote keyless entry.
There's also a range of driving aids to make the Ford Transit 350 safer on the road too including a trailer brake controller and a rear reversing sensor.
If you need space for passengers and cargo coupled with power, the Ford Transit 350 is a choice that will deliver a superior performance each and every time.
