The Kia Forte is a luxurious sedan which provides plenty of space for drivers and passengers to travel in style. The generously equipped interior cabin combines space and features with a sleek design for a vehicle that looks like it should be more expensive than its true price tag.
Kia Forte: an Indulgent Drive
Kia is perhaps best known for producing pocket-sized vehicles which are perfect for those on a limited budget but in recent years the Korean manufacturer has started to stretch their range, offering a broader lineup of cars. The Kia Forte is the next step up from their collection of superminis, a medium-sized sedan which sets out to challenge more established names in the market.
The interior of the car is spacious and even adults will find there’s plenty of room sitting in the rear on long journeys. The cargo capacity is 421 Litres with the rear seats in place but this can be expanded if the seating is removed. If you like the Forte but need a larger cargo capacity, it is also available as a hatchback which increases the basic cargo space to 656 Litres.
There’s a choice of engines and transmissions with the Forte, with a 1.6 litre or a 2.0 litre, both with four cylinders. Drivers can choose between a six gear manual or seven gear automatic transmission.
A Dash of Luxury
The interior of the cabin is where the Forte particularly excels because it’s far more than just a cheap design brimming with features. Kia has gone the extra mile here and has made it truly luxurious with a high-quality finish. This is particularly evident in the higher trims.
Power steering, leather steering wheel, remote keyless entry, cruise control, leather upholstery and a trip computer all included in the Forte.
The onboard infotainment system includes Bluetooth compatibility, wireless streaming, LCD control monitors and voice recognition software.
Innovative Safety Systems
In safety testing, the Forte performed well, particularly for braking where the vehicle came to a stop more quickly than others in its class.
Front, side and curtain airbags come fitted as standard with every Kia Forte along with traction control, ABS and stability control. On the entry level model you’ll have to add a rearview camera as an optional extra but on other trims, it comes as standard.
Other safety features that can be added include blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking.
If you anticipate allowing a younger driver in your family to use the car, there’s also the telematics bundle which includes notifications for a secondary driver such as when curfew, speed limits or location perimeters are broken.
The Kia Forte is a class apart from the other models from this manufacturer, providing a very luxurious car which will make driver and passengers feel indulged and pampered.
