Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
Looking for an upscale interior, outstanding handling and probably way more horsepower than you can handle? Then look no further than the astonishing Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. Depending on your personal preferences, the luxury sports car class is brimming with exceptional vehicles from one end to the other. But certainly one with the most pedigree and fun-inducing properties is the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. Available in coupe and roadster (convertible) body styles, this two-seater boasts the kind of handling and V8 engines you’d typically expect to see in a Fast and Furious movie. Add to that the top-notch materials and high-end styling that Mercedes is known for and it is pretty clear that you’re looking at a top contender in any category other than cargo space (though the GT does have a usable trunk, believe it or not). Here’s everything you need to know.
Off The Charts Power
You’ll find a twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood of every GT out there; the thing is, the total power output varies depending on the trim level you opt for. Essentially, you’re looking at a range of between 469 horsepower from the base (!) GT and up to 577 horsepower in the top-of-the-food-chain GT R. Needless to say that every trim level is ridiculously fast, but it should be pointed out that the top two trim levels really offer the face-melting acceleration you’d expect from a rocket and not a Merc. All the engines available are wildly responsive and meticulously combined with the dual-clutch transmission that offers pretty smooth shifting. Delivering a comfortable and firm ride, the handling of the GT is simply otherworldly. The car hits every apex exactly how you steer it to and the chances of you losing your nerve before you push the car to its limits are non-existent as a result of the outstanding road grip.
A Luxury Two-Seater
There are tons of leg and headroom inside the cabin despite the GT being a two-seater, with decent visibility and plenty of bolstering provided by the seats. On one hand, you’ll probably struggle to find the typical luxury car level of support, but on the other, the seats are designed for performance – something this car will provide tons of. While being a sports car at heart, the GT is a Mercedes in its soul. This translates into an exceptionally well-styled interior that features a plethora of top-notch, premium materials throughout. The cockpit is an outstanding place to spend time and is plenty spacious considering there are only two seats located in it. The trunk is big enough for around six shopping bags or a couple of golf bags, which can be said to be a pleasant surprise.
Sufficient Tech As Well
You’ll find no shortage of standard tech equipment inside the GT. The usual works are all there, starting with Bluetooth, two USB ports, satellite radio, a four-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control and ending with the COMAND infotainment system, which boasts an 8.4-inch display screen, navigation and Mercedes’ touchpad controller. Should you find the standard audio system lacking in any respect, you can also opt for one of two Burmester premium audio systems with outstanding sound quality. The touchpad controller is likely to have a learning curve that might take some time, but other than that, there are no problems at all with the infotainment system. A World-Class Automobile The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is an astonishing car through and through; one of which there are no bad things to be said. It provides an impeccable interior and elite performance with absolutely no flaws that could become a deal-breaker. It does come with a pretty hefty price tag as well, but that’s to be expected from a car of the GT’s thoroughbred character and mission. The GT absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt belongs at the top of your shopping list.
