If you are looking for a mid-sized SUV with very high luxury standards, make sure to consider the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Keep reading to know more about this astounding four-wheeler.
This Mercedes-Benz M-Class is actually referred to under a different name by a lot of people and you might be more familiar with the GLE-Class. This class of SUVs went into production around 1997 and still lives on under the name GLE-Class. The renaming process was somewhat complicated and it took place in 2015. The very first generation of this class was the W163 and it was designed on a mid-sized body-frame that was made for 5 people. Later on, an option was added of installing a third row which allows 7 passengers to ride inside this SUV.
It makes perfect sense that an SUV of the M-Class’ size requires a powerful engine inside that will provide enough torque. Not only is this true (the M-Class is powered by a remarkable 3.2-litre V6), but the SUV also boasts a new electronic traction system that was designed specifically for four-wheel-drive vehicles. All of this was introduced with the first W163 model. This traction system was becoming very popular very fast because it was performing extremely well on snow and other off-road surfaces.
As previously mentioned, the original M-Class was designed as a 5 seater SUV, but it was later decided that an addition of a third-row seat is the way to add more appeal to this car. The interior is just as one would expect from a German luxury car maker: luxurious, plush, yet functionally subtle and passenger-oriented. Styling has never been an issue when it comes to Mercedes, and that is certainly not the case with the M-Class either.
Increasingly Better Technology
Mercedes is a car manufacturer known to be revolutionary and groundbreaking in almost all aspects of car making. The M-Class stands as yet another example of that; even the first generation of the SUV was well ahead of its time thanks to a plethora of tech gadgets, equipment and safety features that it incorporated. Fast forward several generations and the situation is virtually the same – the M-Class is equipped with more tech that you’d expect an SUV to have – even for a Merc. The entertainment system is particularly notable as it caters to families with small children. Similarly, the dashboard features have remained analogue for a reason, as digitizing this aspect of the interior as well would likely take away from the overall driving experience.
There’s really no second-thought to investing in the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. It incorporates all of the features that have made the brand legendary and also comes with tons of modern tech, convenience and safety features. Additionally, it does not take away from the driving experience thanks to a potent engine, great handling and more than impressive four-wheel-drive system that confidently plows through mud, snow and countless other off-road terrains.
Lastly, there is also the small matter of the badge on the hood which, if we’re being completely honest, always plays a role in a car buyer’s decision-making process. All in all, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class is an astonishing car in anyone’s criteria, which is why investing in one is more than a smart decision – it is a win-win situation any way you look at it.
