Mitsubishi Lancer: The Sedan that Offers Comfort and Convenience

The market for midsize sedans is crowded but there is one car which stands out, offering both value for money and an excellent on the road performance. The Mitsubishi Lancer is modest yet quietly outstanding, coming with a range of features and nimble handling which makes driving a pleasure. Practicality comes bundled in an attractive package with the Lancer, making it the ideal choice for a family car. Originally released in 1973, the Lancer has undergone a number of regenerations to keep up with technology allowing it to remain at the top of its category. Offered with a choice of either a 2.0 litre or a 2.4-litre engine, the Lancer has the option of either manual or automatic transmission.

A Generous Interior Trim

Mitsubishi has opted for a simple approach to the dashboard of the Lancer with a minimal amount of switchgear. This provides a clean, uncluttered appearance to the dash. The driver's seat has a two-way adjustment, allowing drivers to comfortably find the perfect position. The Lancer is a compact sedan which is offered with three different trims: ES, SE, and SEL. The basic ES comes fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, LED heated mirrors, cruise control, running lights, automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, a height-adjustable seat for the driver, 60/40 split folding backs for the rear seats, power accessories, a 6.1-inch touchscreen interface, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, voice-activated technology, and a four-speaker sound system combined with a CD player and a USB port. The SE ups the luxury level with 18-inch wheels and a sports suspension, keyless ignition and entry, heated front seats, satellite radio and a six-speaker sound system. If you move to the SEL, you’ll also have the benefit of all the SE kit plus automatic headlights and wipers, improved interior trim, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob. Optional extras for various models include a sunroof, nine-speaker system, 7-inch touchscreen, LED fog lamps and rear parking sensors. As well as a generous amount of space in the front in all directions, there’s also lots of room in the rear, accommodating long legs easily. The trunk of the Lancer is a reasonable size, allowing easy stashing of cargo in addition to passengers.

Making Safety a Priority

All Lancers have an excellent set of safety equipment, a major plus point for any vehicle. Twin side, front, and curtain airbags are included, together with another two airbags intended to protect the knees of the driver. In addition, stability control is also fitted as standard across the range on every trim level. All Lancers are protected by an alarm plus deadlocks and an immobilizer. The Mitsubishi Lancer is a compact sedan which, with its range of features, is perfect for both family and business use. Practical yet attractive, and with a powerful engine beneath the hood, it’s the obvious choice for any driver.
