Starting at the front, this Nissan full-sized SUV offers an improved vehicle enhancement with a V-shape, LED headlamps and running lamps. The rear end supports the new appearance with LED taillights and the overall image is one that is a unique two-tone colour scheme with some stylish 18 or 20 inch wheels, naturally dependent on the trim you select. All over, the 2017 Nissan Armada makes for a very attractive and impressive package, which is sound, solid, and remote from any truck perception.

This new generation Armada offers you motoring that is in no way similar to its competitors, with a cruising ability that resembles a luxury sedan. Leaving any truck image behind, the plentiful insulation and acoustic glass fitted in the front and side windows induce levels of enviable driving peace and quiet. However, this idyllic image contains a hidden tiger, with the latent power to spring from zero to 100 km/h in about 6.5 seconds. Although some may realize that this also is not particularly truck-like, it does have a towing capacity of 3855.535 kg (8,500 lbs).

This may come as a surprise to some SUV owners, but the new 2017 Nissan Armada possesses an aura of sophistication, in general, that is more pronounced than some of its competition! Arguably, the new Armada may have some truck inclinations, but its overall designer concept, performance, and packaging are not remotely like one.

When tackling winding roads, there is a noticeable absence of rock and roll, which could be surprising for a vehicle with a weight of over 2703 kg (5,960 lbs). Despite the hydraulic steering of the Armada perhaps being considered old fashioned on this vehicle, it gives a sensitive and smooth performance, with a welcome touch of road contact, as it adapts to the speed of this SUV.

Hidden power

Of great satisfaction is the new 5.6-litre “Endurance” V8 engine, with its origins in Tennessee. Despite being slightly over-loud on starting helped by a large clutch fan, it rapidly gains its running quietness and all that is heard is the reassuring ticking of the direct injection facility. The 2017 Nissan Armada drives on regular fuel, with an observed efficiency of 13.8 L/100 km.

There is a 4WD system that is standard and fully automatic, utilizing a two-speed transfer case. The engine is content to engage 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque for pulling away without even one noticeable growl from the single exhaust pipe. The Armada offers a unique combination of a superb solid SUV driving experience, in exceptional sedan comfort.
