Canadian Black Book just awarded the 2017 Best Retained Value – Mid-size SUV To the Toyota FJ Cruiser

May 11 2020

Customer design satisfaction is just one crucial aspect of the production of the FJ Cruiser and any other Toyota models. With ongoing and continuous Awards, each year the Canadian Black Book Awards sees Toyota models setting new records. The FJ Cruiser achieved first place in the high performing category of mid-size SUVs with the recent 2017 Canadian Black Book Awards. This year, that category attained the highest recorded Best Retained Value score of 71%, out of all competing categories. However, the heart of the matter is that despite the extremely competitive nature of this category, Toyota also took the next two places, with the Toyota 4Runner and the Highlander!

This raises the question of what is it about the Toyota vehicles, like the FJ Cruiser that helps them retain their value. It cannot just be on the basis of customer loyalty or is it that their vehicle owners are willing to pay more for the Toyota quality product, performance, and that big asset, proven reliability.

On-Off-road Cruising

The FJ Cruiser has that aura of experience about it, added to by its designer construction for the great off-road ventures. But it also portrays another character, with distinct retro-style mirrors and an impression of being fun. In fact, it could be regarded as a vehicle for all seasons and environments, even city driving. This is enhanced with a spacious interior that makes traveling with 5 passengers comfortable and is also easily cleaned. A highly effective air-conditioning system also makes for a relaxed driving atmosphere.

For convenience, there is a 60:40 split rear seat and removable pillow, which enables extra cargo to be packed. The FJ Cruiser makes life easier with a flip-up tailgate window, whereby you can access the cargo without needing to open the back door.

Under the hood

With its 4.0-litre V6 engine, fuel economy is about 11.4 litres per 100km. Although the new Toyota FJ Cruiser offers owners a natural off-road environment vehicle, its new retro-styling type will also not be out of place in the city! What will not be visible is the impressive amount of power generated, in the region of 300 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque.

The 2017 Toyota FJ Cruiser is looking for a big engine to get significant power. Its output for the new model will be around 300 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. It could be gained by way of a five-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, a 4.0-l DOHV V6 unit with 2TRD with power generated a way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Whichever of the FJ Cruiser options you take, the assurance is that this is yet another Toyota winner!
