Here is a little history lesson on Volkswagen

January 05 2020

Volkswagen with headquarters in Wolfsburg was founded in May of 1937 with the intention of providing a simple car affordable for all the population. Due to the politics of the time, manufacturing was diverted from cars. Some years later, Volkswagen recommenced with the Type1- the iconic Beetle.

Order number 143075 consisted of 12 vehicles! The Beetle’s popularity soared from 1945 to 1955 and soon after reached a million sales. For over eighty years the Volkswagen Company has successfully created quality cars through clever advertising of modern trends. The introduction of various well-performing vehicle lines has solidified their position in the car market. The modern VW Beetle has proved a worldwide hit.

The Beginning of the Volkswagen Golf

The Volkswagen Golf was first introduced in 1974 as a replacement for the rear-engine air-cooled Beetle as a small family car. The Golf Mk 1, a front-engine, front-wheel drive, arrived at the American and Canadian markets known as the “Rabbit.” The Golf has become Volkswagen’s best- selling car, and by 2012 twenty-nine million had been manufactured.

The Volkswagen Golf has won many awards over the years. In 2009 the Golf Mk6 was awarded the title of Car of the Year, and this was repeated in 2013 with the VW Golf Mk7. As well, the Golf is one of only three cars to have been voted European Car of the year twice, this happened in 1992 and 2013. The Volkswagen Golf has made the Car and Driver Annual 10 Best lists on numerous occasions. The Golf Mk1 GTI won the Motor Trend Car of the Year award in 1985, and the Gold Mk7 won it again in 2015.

The entry of the Volkswagen Jetta

The Volkswagen Jetta has been marketed since 1979. The original idea was for the Jetta to be a sedan that was a niche above the Golf hatchback, a hatchback with a conventional trunk added to it and some interior changes as well. The Jetta has grown in size with each generation of the car brought out, and by 2014 more than fourteen million had been sold, making the Jetta Volkswagen’s top-selling model.

About the classy, refined looking Jetta

The Volkswagen Jetta is equipped with a larger turbocharged engine that makes 210 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. Known for its impressive smooth ride, the 2017 VW Jetta is an ideal car for long journeys and for people who drive a lot. The cabin is well-insulated ensuring a ride that is quiet. The Volkswagen Jetta, although classified as a compact sedan is a highly recommended family car. It has a spacious interior and a large trunk that can accommodate a large amount of luggage.
