Canadian Black Book Unveils New Brand Identity and Website
Changes Reflect Company’s Evolution From Valuations to Advanced Analytics
August 16, 2022, Markham, ON – Canadian Black Book, the leading provider of Canada’s used vehicle valuation data and residual value forecast solutions, today formally announced the launch of its new brand identity and website at canadianblackbook.com. The new brand highlights the company’s commitment to its position as Canada’s leading provider of valuations, advanced data and analytics, and continued product innovation.

For over 60 years, Canadian Black Book has been the trusted, unbiased Canadian automotive industry source for vehicle values and critical auto industry data. During that time, the company has continued to evolve and develop innovative solutions for Canada’s auto sector.
CBB maintains its core business competencies in automotive values, data, and knowledge, however, technology has transformed the company into an advanced data and analytics organization. The new website was designed to highlight those capabilities and make it simple for users to see how CBB can help their auto industry businesses.
“Our origins are analog, and over the past decade we’ve expanded our digital footprint from a paper book to data solutions and insights, from accurate to precise VIN-specific valuations, and from current values to advanced residual value modeling,” says Yolanda Biswah, Senior Vice President and General Manager at CBB.
Given the scope of change and innovation over the years, as well as the close working relationship with Black Book (U.S.), it became clear that the brand needed to evolve externally to reflect the internal changes. The new website closely follows the style and functionality of its American sibling site at BlackBook.com.
The new logo, which mimics much of the U.S version, includes a slant that represents Canadian Black Book’s fast-moving and forward-looking innovative insights. There are now straight, precise, and clean edges, representing the power of CBB’s data. And finally, the maple leaf is incorporated, which represents the proud Canadian roots of the company.
The black from the legacy logo remains and continues to represent stability, strength, and intelligence, reflecting the power of CBB data, people, algorithms, and technology. CBB’s new brand also includes secondary colors (teal and orange).
Canadian Black Book maintains its position and focus on providing specific and accurate Canadian data with Canadian people and Canadian insights.
